This year's been hectic..with a lot of ups and downs. But ya'll know what they say right? What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. Tho that saying isn't entirely true but w/e. First things first, i'm super duperly greatful with all the things that i've been blessed with. I usually don't show it but i'd like to thank my family and friends for being there to support. I'd also like to thank all the people, good or bad, that i've enountered this year. For the good ones have taught me how to do things right and the bad ones have taught me which consequences i might face when doing something dumb.

Wdup WORLD!? I've been updating my blog for three days straight! crazy eh? XD
I've worked all day and i'm pretty beat but i HAVE to share this with ya'll!
Awhile back I heard about this kid called Jeremy Lin on nba.com right.. well this kid is going to be the first ABC (American Born Chinese) that's gonna play in the NBA! It's already a pretty big deal that some bay area asian kid's gonna play in the NBA but that's not it tho. This dude graduated from freakin Harvard! Just so you know, Harvard doesn't give away athletic scholarships which means that he got in based on his academic achievements. Only a few Ivy League players get to play in the NBA..and yes, he's one of them! I mean this school produces more American presidents than NBA players..SERIOUSLY! While attending Harvard he led the Harvard bball team to the postseason (last time this happened was in 1946!) Furthermore, growing up in the bay area he was rooting for SF Golden State Warriors and guess which team he signed with..? YUP, GOLDEN STATE!

ok basketball and school right..? what else is there? Well he prays every day!

What is true happiness?

Not always exactly formulated in the same way, but throughout my life i've been asked this question several times. Several weeks ago a friend of mine asked me what makes ME happy? wow, it came kinda unexpected, how can such a simply phrased question cause me so much trouble to come up with an answer.

The question may seem simple but to some the answer to this question has way more depth than one may think. The word 'happiness' is also a subjective one. What makes you happy doesn't necessarily have to make me happy.

I find that everyone should at least ask themselves this question and mull over it and seriously, what makes YOU happy is the question. NOT what makes your parents happy, NOT what makes your loved ones happy. It's all about YOU. Though i guess lots of times when the people around you are happy they tend have a certain effect on you which makes you happy also, but this isn't always the case.

My answer to this question is a multiple one.

To start off with, making my parents proud would make me happy (sounds corny right?).

Do good in school (again lame right?=P)

Small stuff like spending quality time with friends and just hanging out with people whom i really care about together creating wonderful memories that are worth reliving.

Connect with people.

Perform meritorious deeds.

Last but not least, find someone super awesome to share it all with.

And there are probably some other things that make me happy but i can't come up with them right now. XD

Furthermore i'd like end this post by quoting something from a book that i was reading today. The book is called: "with one heart bowing to The City of Ten Thousand Buddhas volume 8". It was written by Dharma master Heng Sure and former Dharma master Heng Chau. Quote from page six:

Having read the title, i'd like you to ask yourself the same question: what's it all for?

Some of you might clearly have a purpose/goal whatsoever in life. This of course is good, this way you have something to strive to. I, myself also have numerous things that i want to achieve in this lifetime. I know for sure that once i've accomplished these certain goals that i've set, my family and I would be very happy. Thus, this is also one of the main reasons that i continue to strive and work hard (though i must say that at times it's hard for me to find the motivation to keep going on with things that i want to accomplish. and o, if anyone of yall ever need motivation or just need someone to talk to, u know where to find ur boy kv!).

I find it really really important for oneself to know their purpose in life. At least, think about it. If one doesn't have certain goals in life then i'd think life itself would seem rather meaningless.

For the people who do know what they want and what life really is about ask yourself: what happens AFTER i've reached my goals? What am i going to do now? Is it really worth it?

I never set a limit, once i've reached my aspired goal i'll try to find something else to aspire to. But what happens after i've reached my newly aspired goal? and what happens after that? and after that? etc.

Eventhough, i don't really know what's it all for. I'd like to get the most of it. I advise you to work hard, enjoy life, be compassionate to each other and reach for the stars! I guess sometimes it's good to not think about things TOO much. Take action and just do what's on your mind.

Today is a good day because PSV (a soccerteam), from my hometown, Eindhoven, became national champion today! It was so crazy in the city. My family and I went out to eat in a Chinese restaurant in Eindhoven but we had trouble getting into and out of the restaurant because so many people were partying outside of the restaurant. I'll upload some pictures later of how crowded it was in the city today.

Furthermore, at first i wanted to join this asn bball tournament held in A`dam. However my team was late signing up for the tournament so we weren't able to join. Today, the organiser for the asn bball tournament emailed me today saying that one team dropped out and that my team can still join! YAY! Anyway, it's pretty late already so i should try to catch some sleep, but i already know now that i won't be able to, cause i'm too excited for the bball tournament held on the 28th of april!!!!!

Several months ago my friends and I told each other that we would go to an asn party someday. However, there would always be something in the midst that would prevent us from going. Finally, last friday, we went to an asian party! And it wasn't just AN asn party, it was my first one!

We arrived at Rembrandt (name of the place where it was held) at around 23:45 and according to sister dear that's considered early. AIGHT, FINE, next time wel'll go later. Some friends and I bought our tickets already and then a bouncer asked a friend of mine for her ID. Unfortunately, she didn't bring it with her!!! Man what a bummer, so her boyfriend called my sister to ask whether she could drive them back to his house to get her ID. However, my sister, Thuc Hue wouldn't be there until 12:30-ish! So they would have to wait for another 45 minutes:(

Fortunately, my sister and some friends arrived at 1-ish=D yay!

Most of the music that was on that night wasn't too great(In my opinion). I did have a good time dancing and talking with friends :D oh, there were a few lady stageperformers, while they were dancing lots of dudes were taking pictures... Frankly, I didn't find them attractive at all. So I told my sister this and a friend of hers overheard me saying that i didn't really find them attractive and she asked me, 'Are you gay or something?' I just laughed. (And for all the Buddhist readers: 'No I didn't drink'.

Don't you have those moments when you ask yourself, 'what the hell am i doing here? why in buddha's name am doing this? why did I behave myself this way?' you think and you think, even if you think that you may have found the answer to that question, you can always keep on asking why, for what, what's next?

Will this madness ever stop? Is there one and only one ultimate solution for all the questions that we may have? Or maybe, we are all stuck with countless questions left unanswered . Maybe but then just maybe, everything that exists is empty and we're all living in an empty dream that may seem filled with happiness, love, grief and sorrow, but in fact this was all an illusion?

There are times when i feel utterly confused about everyone and everything and there are times when i still am utterly confused, but i just don't think about it as much. Just a moment ago i was peacefully taking a shower reflecting on some previous conversations that i just had with several friends and then it hit me, isn't everybody confused? I mean, there are people who think that everything and literally everything is somehow part of this chain of confusement (it can drive a person totally mad), but i'm guessing that tons and tons of people don't realize how confusing this world and life is, this of course, doesn't mean that these people aren't confused, for it may mean that they haven't realized how confusing life is/can be. Unless, that person is some kind of Sage, Boddhisattva, or a fully enlightened Budhha and i've been taught that even Boddhisattvas have a tiny bit of ignorance left that's blocking their way to reach full enlightenment.

Lo and behold! Just one day after i have written this, i read a passage in Venerable Master Hua's Talks on Dharma vol. 10: "Cultivators should live every day meaningfully. We shouldn't be overwhelmed by confused thoughts. If we spend our days indulging in deluded thoughts, aren't we just being fools? By thinking about things that could never be or that there's no need to think about, we're just making it hard on ourselves and looking for misery.
